چکیده

In fully mechanized caving mining, the earlier top coal enters limit-equilibrium zone, easier it is for leakage to be induced in front of support. As dip angle seam increases, support drastically reduces stability stope support–surrounding rock system. this study, theoretical analysis, a physical simulation experiment, numerical simulation, and field measurements were performed consider influence effect on gradual deterioration first time, quantitative characterization limit equilibrium boundary was realized based analysis continuous damage medium mechanics. The results show that two boundaries exhibit consistent, asymmetric ‘double arch’ distribution along incline. inclined upper-middle region working face enter state, whereas upper lower regions lag behind. initial final zone are distributed from 1.24 3.04 m 0.19 −1.95 wall, respectively. verified by times face. These could provide reference information evaluating systems mining with steeply dipping seams.

Determination of a suitable extraction equipment in mechanized longwall mining in steeply inclined coal seams using fuzzy analytical hierarchy method (Case study: Hamkar coal mine, Iran)

The longwall mining method is one of the most applied methods in extracting low-inclined to high-inclined coal seams. Selection of the most suitable extraction equipment is very important in the economical, safety, and productivity aspects of mining operations. There are a lot of parameters affecting the selection of an extraction equipment in mechanized longwall mining in steeply inclined coal...

Characteristics of Strata Behavior during Thick Seam Mining by Fully-Mechanized Top Coal Caving in a Loess-Covered Gullied Region

This study systematically investigates the overburden movement and strata behavior at a fully-mechanized top coal caving (FMTCC) face in a thick coal seam in a loess-covered gullied region by field measurement and theoretical analysis. A comparative analysis was performed to examine how the attitude of surface gullies and the structure of overburden affect face support resistance. The character...

Source and Distribution of Phosphorus in British Columbia Coal Seams

Phosphorus contents of coal from around the world vary although there is a tendency for Permian coals from India and Australia, and Cretaceous coals from Western Canada to have more phosphorus than Carbcmiferous coals from Europ+ and USA (Table 1). This may be because of the evolution of vegetation type over geological time or because of the conditions in the coal swamps. Data presented here su...

Estimation of coal seams gas content for evaluating potential use of methane drainage system in Tabas coal mine

Methane gas emission, accumulation, and explosion are the most important risk factors in underground coal mines. Hence, having a knowledge of methane gas emission potential in underground coal mines is of crucial importance in preventing the explosion risk, loss of life, and property, and providing miners' safety. The purpose of this work is to provide the prediction maps for the C1, C2, and B2...

Permeability evolution during progressive deformation of intact coal and implications for instability in underground coal seams

We report measurements of deformation, strength and permeability evolution during triaxial compression of initially intact coals. Permeability is continuously measured by the constant pressure differential method, together with axial and volumetric strains for both water (H2O) and strongly adsorbing carbon dioxide (CO2) gas. Strength and Young’s modulus increase with increasing confining stress...
